Dorothy Isabel  Hanaway (Noonan)
Dorothy I. Hanaway, 90, Independence, MO passed away Jan. 19, 2018. Funeral Mass will be at 10 am, Sat., Jan. 27 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 611 N Liberty St, Independence, MO 64050; inurnment at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 am before the service at the church. The family requests contributions to the St. Mary’s Social Services program. Dorothy was born to Leo and Edna (Brewster) Noonan on Aug. 8, 1927 in Sioux City, IA. She was a member at St. Mary’s for over fifty-eight years and was a member of the Alter Society in addition to volunteering in the church’s food pantry. She worked at GEHA for over ten years. She enjoyed knitting, reading and taking her dog, Bailey, for walks. Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister Pat Dickhut. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years Dave Hanaway, of the home; daughter Mary Hanaway, Kansas City, MO; son David Hanaway and wife Karen Jean, Yorktown, VA; daughter Karen Hanaway, Liberty, MO; son Dan Hanaway and wife Lori, Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren Katie Hill, David Patrick Hanaway, Tim Hanaway and wife Amanda, Jenny Schorgl, Lindsey Hanaway,
Nicholas Hanaway, Abby Hanaway and great-grandchildren Nicholas and Luke.
