Ella Viola Bruns, 91 formerly of Buckner, MO passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday at the Six-Mile Baptist Church with burial to follow in Buckner Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Monday at the Church. Donations may be made in her name to the Six-Mile Baptist Church. Ella was born September 27, 1925 in Knob Noster, MO to James A. and Mayme A. (Huffman) Graham. She had lived in Buckner since 1946. She had worked as a cook/baker for the Buckner Elementary School until she retired in 1989. She was a member of Six-Mile Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking, cooking and spending time with her family. Survivors include; 4 children, Ron D. Bruns of Odessa, James F. Bruns of Buckner, David L. Bruns and Darrell Bruns of Independence, MO; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney G. Bruns in 1990, a daughter, Judy Jones in 2016 and a granddaughter Cathy Lipps in 2014.
