I will always remember his smile and kindness. His energy to be about helping others and being involved in worthwhile activities has been a strength and an example to me. My prayers are for the Winslow family. Gene was a great man. I appreciate his willingness to always help. I will never forget our time at the Independence Examiner covering high school sports. I am sure Gene and Dick Puhr are in heaven sharing their many stories.

I have many fond memories of Gene and your family. Most involved church -- worship, church camp (reunions), potlucks. He was a servant minister who generously gave of his heart so others might have joy. His enthusiasm, optimism and laughter will be missed. Our condolences to the family. We really enjoyed getting to know Gene through the Noland Road Lions Club. He was a dedicated member and longtime secretary, as well as a former president. We knew him first there, but later came to know him during those times he gave ministry to the Special Ministries Congregation where we attended. He was a dedicated minister of the gospel and gave a spirit-filled ministry. Our condolences to the family. He will be missed by many.
