Obituary for Margaret Ellen "Peggy" Hodges
MARGARET “PEGGY” HODGES
Margaret Ellen “Peggy” Hodges passed away peacefully at her home in Sugar Creek, Missouri, on Saturday, March 27, 2021. She was 70 years old. She was born to Charles and Hazel Mathis on January 15, 1951 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Peggy graduated from Lee’s Summit High School. She enjoyed traveling, camping and square dancing with her husband Virgil. Peggy was active at her church, Harmony Heights Baptist and took great pride in being their treasurer. She loved animals and was an amazing grandmother to her three grandchildren. Peggy was a very special woman and will be greatly missed by all that had the opportunity to meet her.
She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Hodges; son, Phillip Hodges (Holly); grandchildren, Connor, Leah and Ben Hodges; siblings, Richard, Patrick and Mike Mathis (Roxanne), Billy Jaudon, Judy Payne, Ellen Wiertzema (Jason) and beloved furry companion, Kallie her cat.
Peggy is preceded in death by her dear husband Virgil; brothers, Ron and Jim Jaudon; mother, Hazel Mathis; father, Charles Mathis; step mother, Jean Mathis.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 1st at Harmony Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Independence, Missouri. Her funeral service will follow at 11am and Burial will take place at Mound Grove Cemetery.
