Obituary for Caroline Mabel Stewart (Brown)

Caroline Mabel Stewart was called home by the lord on March 2, 2021. She passed in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones.
Caroline was the first of three children, born on May 11, 1927 to John Brown and Carrie (Caroline Cavender) in Kansas City, Mo. She made her home over the last 60 years in Independence, Mo. She retired from JCPenney’s and then for a second time from Leeward’s. She loved to travel and spent endless hours crocheting and sewing. The owner of a kiln, she was also an avid ceramics artist. Every holiday season you would find her in the kitchen making candy and fruitcake. Caroline was never far from a word search book and later in life she would stay up all night with her great grandson watching him play video games. She often attributed her long life to playing with her great grandchildren, the gave her “reason to go on”! She will be missed greatly by all who loved her and knew her.
Caroline is survived by her 2 children, Jim Sadler (Angela) and Beverly Parker; her grandchildren, Shelly, Scott, Jamie, Bobby, Caroline, Stacey and their families as well as great grandchildren, Colyn, Colton, Caelon and Cielon and her great great grandson Brexton, as well as others.
A special thanks to her caregivers Rachel Frost and Todd Snider.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pammy Sadler and grandson, Ben Cantwell.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
