Joe was born in Kansas City, MO on November 14, 1941 to John and Mary Nastasi. He had one brother, Ross Nastasi, who along with his parents predeceased him. Joe graduated from Northeast High School in 1961 and worked from the time he was a young teenager until spending the majority of his work career at Royal Crown Cola eventually bought out by Seven UP bottling company. He was a Teamster. Joe had many friends from all walks of life and almost never met a stranger. He definitely had the gift of gab and LOVED to talk. He was a stream of consciousness talker and would often say things that left you wondering, "Where did that come from?" He enjoyed all his friends from Heritage House where he lived the last few years of his life. Joe is survived by five children from his marriage to Mary Nastasi; Joe (Angie) Nastasi, Anissa (Rodney) Nelson, Alesia (Larry) Burroughs, Maria (Jimmy) Waite, and John Nastasi. The apple of his eye were his thirteen grandchildren who he loved to call all the time; Elizabeth Nelson, Emily Nelson, Joshua Nastasi, Ethan Nelson, Larry Burroughs, Corey Burroughs, Jesse Nastasi, Elsie Kate Nelson, Jonathan Waite, Abbie Nastasi, Justin Waite, Madison Waite, and Jared Waite. Joe is also survived by a daughter from his first marriage, Marsha Nastasi, of Nebraska City, NE. He is also survived by a niece, Jennifer Nastasi; and a nephew John Nastasi along with several cousins and other family members. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Joseph P. Nastasi Scholarship Fund, being established through UNICO Kansas City, an Italian American Service Organization. Contributions can be mailed to UNICO, 3008 NE 102nd Terr, Kansas City, MO 64155.
