Obituary for Beverly Ann Carrender

Beverly A. Carrender, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away on April 30, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was 81.

Beverly was born on September 11, 1939 in Jefferson City, MO, the first child of A.C. “Hop” and Zarabelle (Bret) Becker.

She was in the first graduating class of Helias High School in 1957. She married her husband, Glenn E. Carrender, in 1958 and settled in Independence, MO. They were founding members of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Independence where she spent many years working as a church secretary and bookkeeper.

She leaves behind her husband, Glenn, of Blue Springs; her sons, Bret (& Kellie), of Blue Springs; Greg, of Independence; and Brian (& Lori), of Blue Springs; along with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Charlotte (& Stan) Veit, of Jefferson City, MO; and Mary (& Joe) Poepsel, of Anna, TX; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Alan B. Becker.

A visitation will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence on May 6, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Independence on May 7 at 10:30 a.m. with a graveside service immediately following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Raytown, MO.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
